Philosophy of Teaching
From the moment they enter my classroom to the moment they leave, my goal is to lead students to a deeper understanding of language. I have high expectations for my classroom. I believe that because my expectations are high, I will be an effective teacher by applying the principles behind my expectations: every student matters, learning can be fun, and I can provide a healthy, safe environment for students and for learning. I believe that if my students become aware of the joy that can be found in reading and writing and develop an increased ability to use and understand language, I will have succeeded as a teacher. I seek to reach these goals by showing students the goals and skills they need and creating opportunities for learning.
